SC, ST and OBC Cell
Preamble:
JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research is committed to provide an environment that promotes diversity and respects for everyone regardless of color, religious, belief, caste, creed or cultures, while maintaining diversity of all kinds. To ensure prompt disposal of the grievances of the students belonging to SC ST and OBC Category, a Special Cell for SC, ST & OBC has been established.
Functions of SC, ST and OBC cell:
Disseminate decisions made by the Government of India and the Commission, and on an annual basis, gather information about course-specific admissions for candidates from the Scheduled Castes (SC) & Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Castes (OBC) in various University programs. This information should be submitted in the prescribed format by a specified deadline, with follow-up actions taken as necessary.
Disseminate orders from the Government of India and decisions by the Commission and collect information regarding the hiring and training of individuals from these communities in both teaching and non-teaching positions at universities. This information should be submitted in suitable forms by a specific deadline, and follow-up actions should be taken as needed.
Collect reports and information concerning Government of India directives related to various aspects of education, training, and employment for candidates from the SC/ST/OBC which will help in formulating new policies or modifying existing ones by the Commission.
Analyze the gathered information and create reports and summaries for subsequent submission to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, University Grants Commission, and any other relevant authorities as required.
Address and respond to representations received from candidates from these communities concerning their admissions, recruitment, promotions, and other related matters in Universities and Colleges.
Represent as a member in Grievances Redressal Cell for the grievances of SC/ST/OBC students in the University, offering them necessary assistance in resolving both academic and administrative issues.
Undertake any additional tasks as assigned periodically to support and advance higher education among these two communities who face economic, social, and educational challenges.
