The students undergo training in medical imaging technology which includes X ray, ultrasonography, doppler scan, CT Scans, MRI, mammography, fluoroscopy, DSA imaging. Students get trained in conventional and digital imaging systems, PACS and quality control aspects also.
The courses of the programme are :
Basic Physics of Radiography, Radiographic Film & image processing Techniques, Radiography of Chest, abdomen, pelvis & skull, spine & Extremities, Mammography, Fluoroscopy and mobile radiography, Contrast media: reactions & management & special radiography procedures, Physics of ultrasound & CT, Radiobiology and radiation safety, Quality control in radiology, PC and PNDT, PACS and planning of Radiology department, Physics and hardware of MRI, Imaging sequences and advances in MRI, Recent advances & guided radiological procedures along with basic sciences like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology and Pharmacology.
10 + 2 with Science Subjects (Physics, Chemistry Biology should be studied)

I am a senior radiologist and academic with extensive experience in clinical practice, education, and administration. I completed my undergraduate medical training at Christian Medical College, Vellore, in 1996, and my post-graduate specialization in Radiodiagnosis from the same institution from 2003 to 2007.
Following my post-graduation, I served as a Consultant Radiologist and Head at CSI Holdsworth Memorial Hospital, Mysuru, for four years, which was accredited for DNB and Medical Technology training. In January 2011, I transitioned to medical academics at JSS Medical College and Hospital, Mysuru. In this role, I was responsible for training undergraduate and postgraduate students. I also coordinated the academic activities for the BSc Medical Imaging Technology program, where I led the redesign of its curriculum, first to the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) pattern and subsequently in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) guidelines.
My academic career is highlighted by a commitment to advancing radiology education through innovation and collaboration. I founded and spearheaded the long-term development of the JSS Radiology teaching website, serving as its Executive Editor for a decade.This leadership in digital learning is supported by a strong publication record of approximately 50 articles in national and international journals. I am also an active contributor to the broader medical community, frequently serving as an invited speaker at state and national conferences and participating in online teaching initiatives with prestigious programs like IRIA/ICRI and Revise Radiology.
Most recently, I served as the Clinical Lead for Head & Neck Imaging and Mammography at Christian Medical College, Vellore (2023-24). My specialty areas also include thoracoabdominal and pediatric imaging.
In addition to my master's degree, I hold a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Medicine at JSS AHER, where my research focused on neuroimaging in neonatal hypoxia.
