College wall magazines are invaluable tools for fostering creativity and community on campus. They celebrate artistic talents, amplify diverse voices, and offer a break from digital communication. By building communities of interest, promoting critical thinking, and nurturing leadership skills, these magazines enrich campus life and showcase college culture. Embracing their power contributes to a vibrant, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating environment, preparing students to make a positive impact in the world.

SPEKTRUM is the college wall magazine of JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty functioning as a student club under the leadership of Mr. B. Shivaramakrishnan, Assistant Professor along with teaching faculty- Dr Saravanan J, Assistant Professor. The staff- student team worked under the support and guidance of Dr. S. P. Dhanabal, Principal, JSSCP-Ooty since its reformation.

With the aim and direction of the college wall magazine, was to bring about a healthy competition and promote team building capacity among the students to work in a team under different banners. It was also to be noted the Spektrum brought about an ingenuity and creativity in nurturing the talents of students which will definitely be an outstanding personal credit to them.

The popular landmarks in the world history ranging from literature, fiction, festival and current affairs were depicted as themes in the entire editions. Naming few are the fictional magical world of ‘Harry Potter’, popular windows operating system- Windows Xp, Festivities of Christmas & Pongal, animated movie series- Minions, World map with the rollback of the events are among the themes which were showcased in the boards.

Total of 85 students are in the spectrum club under the banner of Literary, Arts & crafts, Scientific and Layout design. The students showcased their talents in putting the display of articles, facts, paintings, interviews in the pre-designed layout according to the theme chosen for that edition. Spektrum is also active on social media of Facebook and Instagram to encourage the new gen students.

On behalf of the team, the committee sincerely thank the staff and management of our college and university for their constant support and encouragement. I really hope that the road map set by this student team will be a model path to promote and encourage the staffs & students to contribute and nurture extra-curricular talents.
