12th Indian Society of Prosthodontics-Restorative-Periodontics (ISPRP) Interdisciplinary National Conference. held from 2nd -4th August 2019.

This summary captures a three-day programme of preconferernce, Keynote presentations, Student and Faculty paper/Poster presentation, panel discussions and interactive dialogue at the 12th Indian Society of Prosthodontics-Restorative-Periodontics (ISPRP) interdisciplinary National conference with the theme “Partners in excellence”, held from 2-4 th August 2019 in Mysuru, Karnataka, at JSS Dental College & Hospital, JSS Medical Institutions Campus. Mysuru.

The event brought together 547 participants from more than 50 Dental colleges, which included 349 Post-graduate students, 172 delegates (Faculty/private practitioners) and 26 Undergraduate students.

The conference began with registration for preconference program on 2-August 2019. All the Preconference resource persons were welcomed at the Sri Gowrishankara Auditorium. A total of 9-Preconference programs were organized at JSS Dental college venue, on 2nd August 9 Am onwards. The total number of participants for various preconference programs were 108.

The official Inauguration of the conference was held on 3rd August at 10:30 am, and the Chief Guest for the event was Dr Bharat Shetty, Vice-President of Dental Council of India and MLA, Mangalore; and Dr C G Betsurmath, Executive secretary, JSS Mahavidya Peetha, Mysuru, at the Sri Rajendra Auditorium, 2nd Floor, JSS Medical College. The Guest of Honour present was Dr Manjnath B, Registrar JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru.

There 10 keynote Lecture over in 2-days on various interdisciplinary topics. On 3rd Saturday , V Gopikrishna lectured on “Endo-Post & Core –Implant Continuuum” , Dr Sreekanth Mallan Spoke on Immediate Functional Loading of Dental Implants. Dr Veernedra discudded the topic “Cortical implantology: peri-implantitis free implants. Dr Jojo Kottor emphasized the importance of Magnification in dentistry.

On 4th Sunday, the Keynote Lectures startd with Dr Jayshree Hegde,with her topic of presentation, on “Management of Sub-gingival lesions with direct restorative resins “ a paradigm shift” . Dr Ramesh Choudhary discussed on the topic full mouth rehabilitation. Dr Akshay kumarswamy lectured on the importance of Biologic width, Dr Chetan Hegde discussed on the topic of management of patients with extensive wear. Dr Konark patil highlighted the importance of Occlusion in clinical dental practice and Dr Shanmukh updated the attendees on the role of 3D Printing in Dentistry.

During the post-lunch session the student and faculty had the paper and Poster presentations at six halls. A panel discussion was held in the main hall on 4th Sunday on the topic “ Interdisciplinary management of compromised tooth” . A total of 169 papers were submitted and 72 e-posters were submitted, which were presented over the 3-day event. Each session of the paper presentation had a best paper and 12 best posters were also selected from e-Poster presentation.
