A delegation from the Department of Medical Genetics, JSS Medical College, visited the Illumina Solutions Centre, Hebbal, Bengaluru, on 4th August 2026, to explore advanced genomics technologies and discuss potential avenues for future collaboration. The visit included interactive discussions with the Illumina technical team on next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms, laboratory workflows, data analysis capabilities, and emerging applications in clinical diagnostics and translational research. The team also toured the state-of-the-art sequencing laboratory and gained insights into the latest sequencing technologies and their implementation. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to identify collaborative research prospects, strengthen academic–industry interactions, and explore the utilisation of Illumina's facilities to advance genomics research, training, and precision medicine initiatives at JSS Medical College.
