CEMR Lab-2 was inaugurated on 17 August, 2019 with great enthusiasm by Dr. B. Manjunatha, Registrar, Dr. Kushalappa P.A., Director (Academics), Dr. Balasubramanian S., Director (Research), Dr. Suma M.N., Vice Principal, Mr. Satish Chandra S.R., Administrative Officer, and other dignitaries in the Department of Biochemistry, JSS Medical College, Mysuru.

Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Associate Professor gave a brief description of the CEMR Lab-2 which has two workstation- Hybridoma workstation and Drosphila workstation. He informed that Hybridoma workstation would support the project work funded by DBT-BIRAC that is focused on “Development of Immunological test for detection of South India Russell’s viper and cobra snake bite”. He also stated that this facility will help the department for attaining Biotechnology industry related projects. He explained that Drosophila workstation will support an ICMR funded SRF project that is involved in screening and developing anti-aging phytochemicals/food components/Ayurveda formulations. Drosphila workstation will also support project work for M.Sc. students who will be joining Dept. of Medical Genetics, initiated by Dr. Akila Prashant. The dignitaries congratulated the department efforts to expand the research facility.
