We are delighted to share the successful completion of the Two-Day Hands-on Workshop on “Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis in Public Health & Social Science Research”, held on 27th & 28th April 2026 at the School of Public Health, JSS Medical College, JSS AHER. We were privileged to have Dr. Bijaya Kumar Padhi, Associate Professor at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), as our esteemed resource person. His insightful sessions, practical demonstrations, and hands-on guidance greatly enriched the learning experience and provided participants with a strong foundation in evidence synthesis. The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 30 attendees, including faculty members, PhD scholars, and students from Public Health, Clinical Psychology, project staff from Biochemistry department and ten alumni of the School of Public Health currently working at various public health institutions. Over the two days, participants engaged in: Formulating research questions for SRMA, Developing search strategies across major databases, Screening, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment, Understanding meta-analysis outputs (PRISMA, forest plots, funnel plots), Hands-on training using tools like R, EndNote, Nested Knowledge and AI-assisted platforms, The interactive sessions, group activities, and hands-on learning enabled participants to initiate and strengthen their skills in conducting high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
