A webinar titled “Perio-Endo Pathways Towards Rehabilitation” was successfully conducted by JSS Dental College and Hospital on 27 January 2026. The program was jointly organized by the Department of Periodontology and the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics.

The webinar was attended by final-year BDS students, postgraduate students, and faculty members of JSS Dental College. The program was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Dhakshaini M. R., Principal, JSS Dental College and Hospital, under the able guidance of Dr. Nandlal B., Professor, Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, JSSDCH. The program convener was Dr. Anitha Subbappa, Faculty, Department of Periodontology, JSSDCH

The webinar was delivered by Dr. Shaili Pradhan, Professor, Department of Periodontics and Oral Implantology, Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal, and currently Academic Coordinator, Dental Program, KMC, Nepal. A distinguished academician and clinician, Dr. Pradhan shared her expertise on the interdisciplinary approach between periodontics and endodontics in the diagnosis, treatment planning, and rehabilitation of complex dental cases

The session focused on the biological and clinical interrelationship between periodontal and endodontic tissues, highlighting various perio-endo lesions, their classification, diagnostic challenges, and decision-making pathways. Emphasis was laid on evidence-based treatment protocols, sequential management strategies, and the long-term prognosis of teeth affected by combined periodontal and endodontic involvement

Dr. Shaili Pradhan elaborated on multiple clinical case scenarios, demonstrating the importance of accurate diagnosis, appropriate sequencing of periodontal and endodontic therapy, and interdisciplinary coordination to achieve successful rehabilitation outcomes. The lecture was informative, clinically relevant, and well received by both undergraduate and postgraduate participants

An online case presentation aligned with the theme was also presented by Dr. Muskan Aggarwal, Postgraduate, Department of Periodontology, and Dr. Shaima Misbah Shafiq, Postgraduate, Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, JSSDCH, JSSAHER, under the guidance of their respective faculty members

The webinar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants actively engaged with the speaker, clarifying doubts and discussing clinical challenges encountered in daily practice

Overall, the webinar was highly educational and enriching, enhancing understanding of interdisciplinary dental care among students and faculty. The joint initiative by both departments proved beneficial in strengthening integrated learning and clinical decision-making skills related to perio-endo management
