With the blessings of His Holiness Mahaswami Ji, Department of Clinical Psychology & Psychiatry, JSS Medical College & Hospital, Mysuru conducted Two-full-days mental health training workshop at Telemedicine Hall, 5th Floor, JSS Hospital, Mysuru on 18th & 19th May 2023. This was the second workshop for teachers (in the series coming workshops including 40 mental health coordinator teachers from different schools/colleges in one batch). Target is to train 4 teachers in each school or college.

The workshop was conducted under the aegies of Dr. Kishore M., Head, Dept. of Psychiatry & Dr. Manoj K Pandey, Head, Dept. of Clinical Psychology, JSS Medical College & Hospital, Mysuru.

This programme was targeted at:

* Generating awareness about mental health issues among students and teachers

* Training them for indicators of common mental health issues in students and teachers.

* Need for a rigorous school mental health programme in each school.

* Their role as a mental health facilitator in their school - to conduct monthly two programmes (supplementary material/guidelines to be provided by the resource team), to identify and refer high risk students, to send quarterly report on mental health activities.

* To orient them of their roles in Mental Health Advisory Board of the school (as per NCERT guidelines)

* Importance of regular reporting (quarterly) of the mental health activities being conducted in school to the office of principal and nodal centre.

All teachers participated actively and welcomed the initiative.
