Eligibility for Pharm .D Course

A pass in any of the following examinations

  • 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology.
  •  A pass in D.Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
    Provided that a student should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.

Admission Procedure for Pharm D. and Pharm D. (Post Baccalaureate) courses:

The process involves the following four stages:

  1. Submission of application form with details of marks secured in the qualifying examination. Selection will be made on the merit based on marks secured in Qualifying examinations (10+2/PUC/HSC/ D.Pharm/B.Pharm etc.,) in relevant subjects conducted by various Boards of Authority/ University and an entrance examination. The syllabus for admission to Pharm D. programme will be at level of 10+2 examination in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology and for Pharm D. (Post Baccalaureate) course will be on the basis of questions at III year and Final year of B.Pharm course in the subjects Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
  2. Sending by post, the application form, Photographs and other enclosures on or before 19.09.2009.
  3. Entrance exam followed by counseling and admissions on 29.09.2009.
  4. Admission of selected students to courses and colleges allotted during counseling session.

Instructions to the candidates:

1. Introduction:Students will be admitted to Pharm D. and Pharm D. (Post Baccalaureate) courses in the constituent college of JSS University, JSS college of Pharmacy, Mysore & JSS College of pharmacy Ooty, on the basis of the rank list prepared by the University from marks secured in Qualifying examinations (10+2/PUC/HSC/D.Pham/B.Pharm etc.) in relevant subjects conducted by various Boards of Authority and an entrance examination.

  • 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign / Management.
  • 5.0% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.


Age: The candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2009 for admission to Pharm D programme (6 years integrated course)

Application Procedure:

A candidate desirous of admission to the Pharm D. course is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit either of the following ways:

  •  A candidate is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit the same to the University on or before the scheduled date. The downloaded and printed application form should be sent along with a processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- only by way of DD favouring JSS University Fee Account, Mysore, payable at Mysore along with the documents listed below.
  • Candidates may also obtain the application form along with the Brochure by sending a processing fee of Rs.1,100/- only by way of DD favouring JSS University, payable at Mysore. The duly filled application form should be sent to the University along with documents listed below.
  • Printed brochure and application forms are also available from our Centres at:

Following documents have to be enclosed along with the application form:

  • Six recent coloured photograph.
  • Attested copies of SSLC/X Std, PUC/HSC/XII Std., marks card and attempt certificate.
  • D.Pharm marks card/ certificate (if applicable)

Merit List

  1.  The University will prepare a merit list amongst the candidates who have applied for admission to the Pharm D course at the constituent institutions of the university, with the marks secured in Qualifying examinations (10+2/PUC/HSC, etc.,) in relevant subjects conducted by various Boards of Authority and the entrance examination.
  2. The selected candidates will be allotted admission to the constituent colleges on the basis of counseling.

Counselling & on-the-spot-admission session:

  • The entrance exam and counseling sessions will be conducted at, JSS College of Pharmacy, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar, Mysore-570015, Karnataka.
  • FAILURE TO REPORT FOR COUNSELLING ON THE SCHEDULED DATE AND TIME WILL RESULT IN INSTANTANEOUS CANCELLATION OF CLAIM OF THE CANDIDATE TO THE SEAT.
  • The candidate should remain present for the counseling and for on-the-spot-admission.
  •  Only the candidate and one of his parents / guardian will be allowed into the hall where counseling is held. The candidates will be called in the order of their ranking in the merit list and offered the seats to the course [Pharm D or Pharm D (Post Baccalaureate) as applicable].
  • The candidate must note that appearance for the examination and inclusion of name in the Merit List does not necessarily mean that he / she will get admission to any course. His / her admission to a particular course will depend upon the availability of seats for that particular course at the time of counseling.
  • At the time of reporting for the counseling, the candidate is required to produce the documents (original and two sets of photocopies) list mentioned above. If the candidate is admitted to any of the courses, these documents will be retained by the University till he / she complete the course. If the candidate fails to produce all or any of the documents listed mentioned above he / she will instantaneously forfeit his / her claim for a seat.
