The Process Involves the Following Stages

  1. Submission of the application form for JSSU-UGET - 2011 entrance test by post or in person along with Photographs and other enclosures on or before 29.04.2011 at 5.00 pm.
  2. The application downloaded from the Website of the University should be accompanied by a DD for Rs. 2,000/- drawn in favour of "JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT , Mysore" payable at Mysore. 
  3. The JSSU-UGET - 2011 entrance test will be held on SATURDAY, 21.05.2011 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the examination centers in the following cities:
    1. MYSORE
    2. BANGALORE
    3. CHENNAI
    4. NOIDA
  4. Announcement of the JSSU-UGET 2011 merit list on website will be done on 15.06.2011 
  5. The counseling will be held at JSS University, Mysore for UG Medical (MBBS) course on 01.07.2011 (Provisional Date).The counseling process will be announced on the website www.jssuni.edu.in.

Introduction

  1. Students will be admitted to UG Medical (MBBS) course in the constituent college of JSS University, JSS Medical College, Mysore, on the basis of the rank obtained by them in the JSSU - UGET -2011 entrance test.
  2. The JSSU UGET - 2011 entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admission for the undergraduate MBBS course. A merit / rank list is generated based on the candidate's scores in entrance test.
    1. 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign / PIO.
    2. 5% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.
  3. JSSU-UGET - 2011 test score are valid only for admission during the academic year 2011.
  4. The JSSU-UGET - 2011 entrance test and publication of test score and rank will be followed by counselling.
  5. Admission of the students will be on 'Inter-se' merit of JSSU-UGET-2011.
  6. Decision of the authorities of JSS University in case of disputes will be final.

Requisite Qualification for admission to MBBS Course

 

  1. The candidate seeking admission to any of these courses should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination 10+2 / PUC II / HSC or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or any other examination equivalent to 10+2/ HSC examination of any recognized Board / University from any School / Colleges in India / Abroad after 12 years of study. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject. Those who have passed the prescribed qualifying examination earlier than March / April 2009 are not eligible to apply.
  2. The General Merit Candidate should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together and should have also passed in English language in the qualifying examinations i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent. As per the Medical Council of India (MCI) norms the candidates must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB, Further must secure not less than 50% marks in PCB in the Common Entrance Test (JSSU - UGET-2011).
  3. The SC, ST , OBC and CAT - I Candidate of Karnataka should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained at least 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together and should have also passed in English language in the qualifying examinations i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent. As per the Medical Council of India (MCI) norms the candidates must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB, Further must secure not less than 40% marks in PCB in the Common Entrance Test (JSSU - UGET-2011).
  4. Age: The candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the MBBS course. (31.12.2011)
  5. Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination i.e. PUC-II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent but whose results have not been declared will also be considered to appear for JSSU-UGET-2011, provided they have appeared for the said examination. However it is responsibility of the applicant to ensure the HSC/10+2/PUC marks card copy is sent to the University specifying the TAT No. (Test Admission Ticket Number) before 10.06.2011, failing which, the tie in the rank will be declared on the basis of the University rules, which shall be binding the candidate.

A candidate desirous of appearing in the JSSU-UGET - 2011 entrance test for Undergraduate Medical Course is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit to the University in the following ways:

  • A candidate is required to download the prescribed application form from the University website: www.jssuni.edu.in and submit the completed form to the University on or before the scheduled date (A copy of the application form is given at ANNEXURE - I). The downloaded and printed application form should be sent along with a processing fee of Rs. 2,000/- only by way of DD favouring "JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT", MYSORE, payable at Mysore along with the documents listed below. *
  • Candidates may also obtain the application form along with the Brochure by sending a application fee of Rs. 200/- only by way of DD favouring "JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT", MYSORE , payable at Mysore. The duly filled application form should be sent to the University along with documents listed below enclosing DD for Rs. 2,000/- favouring "JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT", MYSORE, payable at Mysore.


Attested copies of the following documents have to be enclosed along with  the application form and kindly arrange the documents in the following order.

  1. S.S.L.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
  2. P.U.C./Equivalent examination marks card / Proof of having appeared the PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent examination. 
  3. B.Sc.,/Equivalent examination all the three years marks cards (in case of graduates)
  4. Conduct/Character and Transfer certificate issued by the college last studied.
  5. Date of birth certificate if not mentioned in the SSLC/Equivalent examination marks card.
  6. Caste / community certificate.(The certificate issued by competent authority for candidates claiming lower eligibility under SC / ST / Category - I / OBC categories. (applicable only for Karnataka candidate) 
  7. Transfer certificate for Karnataka board candidates.
  8. Migration Certificate issued by the Board /University in case of candidates coming from outside Karnataka State.
  9. Six recent, identical passport-size colour photographs with name and date.( In addition one copy of the photo should be pasted on the application form in the space provided)
  10. 03 (three) Self addressed A4 size envelopes.
  11. Foreign Nationals seeking admission should obtain eligibility certificate issued by JSS University, Mysore.

The completed application with requisite documents as detailed above along with demand draft for Rs.2000/-, should be enclosed in an envelope super scribed clearly on the outside of the envelope "Application for admission to UG MBBS courses" and sent to the under mentioned so as to reach before 5:00 pm on 29.04.2011, either by speed post, courier or by hand.

  • The University will prepare a merit list amongst the candidates who have appeared for JSSU UGET - 2011 in accordance with the total marks obtained by them in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together in it. The candidates will be called for counseling as per their ranking in this list.
  • Copy of merit list will be displayed on official website of the University: www.jssuni.edu..in.

In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the JSSU-UGET -2011, the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in order of preference as under:

  • Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology in the entrance examination, if equal
  • Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the entrance examination, if equal
  • Candidates obtaining higher total marks in subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics in the 12th standard qualifying examination., if equal
  • Candidates obtaining higher percentage of marks in the 10th standard examination, if equal
  • The age of the candidate, (the elder candidate is ranked higher than the younger candidate).
  • In case of tie at this level, computerized random selection of candidate will be carried out.
  • The counseling sessions will be conducted at JSS University, JSS Medical Institutions Campus, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar, Mysore - 570 015, Karnataka. The date will be displayed on the University Website later. FAILURE TO REPORT FOR COUNSELLING ON THE SCHEDULED DATE AND TIME WILL RESULT IN INSTANTANEOUS CANCELLATION OF CLAIM OF THE CANDIDATE TO THE SEAT; it shall be candidate's responsibility to see the result of JSSU rank list.
  • The candidate should remain present for the counseling and for on-the-spot-admission, as per the schedule displayed on Website, even though he / she fails to receive any information letter, for any reason from the University.
  • To ensure fairness to the merited students and eliminate fraudulent attempts, it is planned to use biometric (finger print) identification at various stages of counselling process and this would be done at the discretion of the University.
  • Only the candidate and one of his parents / guardian will be allowed into the hall where counseling is held. The candidates will be called in the order of their ranking in the merit list and offered the seats to the MBBS course available at that point of time. The candidate will be allowed to choose admission to the course if a seat is available when his / her turn comes.
  • The candidate must note that appearance for the examination and inclusion of name in the Merit List does not necessarily mean that he / she will get admission to the course. His / her admission to the course will depend upon the availability of seats at the time of counseling.
  • At the time of reporting for the counseling, the candidate is required to produce the documents (original and two sets of photocopies) list mentioned above. If the candidate is admitted to the course, these documents will be retained by the University till he / she completes the course. If the candidate fails to produce all or any of the documents listed mentioned above he / she will instantaneously forfeit his / her claim for a seat.
  • The JSS University website: www.jssuni.edu.in is updated regularly. The JSS University suggests all candidates to visit it frequently for relevant information.
