Admission Procedure BDS course:

The process involves the following four stages:

  1. Submission of the application form by post or in person along with Photographs and other enclosures on or before 29.06.2009 
  2. The application downloaded from the Website of the University should be accompanied by a DD for Rs.1,000/- drawn in favour of JSS University Fee Account payable at Mysore. 
  3. Announcement of the rank list on website 15th July 2009.
  4.  Appearing for counseling at the University Office at Mysore, the dates of which will be announced later on our Website

Instructions to the candidates:

Introduction:

Students will be admitted to BDS UG Degree course in the constituent college of JSS University, JSS Dental College & Hospital, Mysore on the basis of the rank list prepared by the University from the test scores obtained by them in the JSS University Test.

  • 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign / Management.
  • 5.0% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.

Age: The candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2009

Qualifications:

  • Requisite Qualification for admission to BDS Course:
    • The candidate seeking admission to BDS course should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination PUC II/HSC or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or any other examination equivalent to 10+2/ HSC examination of any recognized Board / University from any School / Colleges in India / Abroad after 12 years of study. 
    • The candidate should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together in the qualifying examinations i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent. 
    • The candidate should also have secured at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together at JSS University Entrance Test - 2009 for admission to BDS course.
    • The candidate should also have scored 50% in English language.

Application Procedure:

  • A candidate is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit the same to the University on or before the scheduled date. The downloaded and printed application form should be sent along with a processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- only by way of DD favouring JSS University Fee Account, Mysore, payable at Mysore along with the documents listed below.
  • Candidates may also obtain the application form along with the Brochure by sending a processing fee of Rs.1,100/- only by way of DD favouring JSS University, payable at Mysore. The duly filled application form should be sent to the University along with documents listed below.
  • Brochure and application forms are available on our University website : www.jssuni.edu.in

Note: Xerox copy of the application form will not be accepted.

Following documents have to be enclosed along with the application form:

  1. S.S.L.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
  2. P.U.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
  3. B.Sc.,/Equivalent examination all the three years marks cards (in case of graduates)
  4. Conduct/Character and Transfer certificate issued by the college last studied.
  5. Date of birth certificate if not mentioned in the SSLC/Equivalent examination marks card.
  6. Physical fitness certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon.
  7. Migration Certificate issued by the Board /University in case of candidates coming from out side Karnataka State.
  8. Three Passport size photo's, of which one to be affixed to the application form in space provided.
  9. Foreign Nationals seeking admission should obtain eligibility certificate issued by JSS University, Mysore.
  10. Admission Ticket of Comed-K Test.
  11. Rank & Score Card Comed-K.
  12. Self addressed envelops - 03 No's

Merit List

  1.  The University will prepare a rank list amongst the candidates who have applied for admission to BDS course at the constituent institution of the university, with JSS University Test Score 2009 in accordance with the total marks obtained by them in Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology taken together in it. The candidates will be called for counseling as per their ranking in this list.
  2.  Copy of merit list will be displayed at the office of JSS University in Mysore and also shall be notified through official Website of the University (www.jssuni.edu.in).
  3. In case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the JSS University Entrance Test 2009 the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in order of preference as under:

Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the entrance examination, if equal.

Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the entrance examination, if equal.

Candidates obtaining higher total marks in subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics in the 12th standard qualifying examination (such a tie will be settled at the time of counseling), if equal.

Candidates obtaining higher percentage of marks in the 10th Standard examination, if equal.

In case of tie at this level, computerized random selection of candidate will be carried out.

Counselling & on-the-spot-admission session:

  1. The counseling sessions will be conducted at JSS University, JSS Medical Institutions Campus, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar, Mysore - 570 015, Karnataka. The date will be displayed on the University Website later. FAILURE TO REPORT FOR COUNSELLING ON THE SCHEDULED DATE AND TIME WILL RESULT IN INSTANTANEOUS CANCELLATION OF CLAIM OF THE CANDIDATE TO THE SEAT; it shall be candidate's responsibility to see the result of JSSU rank list.
  2. The candidate should remain present for the counseling and for on-the-spot-admission, as per the schedule displayed on Website, even though he / she fails to receive any information letter, for any reason from the University.
  3. Only the candidate and one of his parents / guardian will be allowed into the hall where counseling is held. The candidates will be called in the order of their ranking in the merit list and offered the seats to the various courses available at that point of time. The candidate will be allowed to choose admission to any of the courses if a seat is available when his / her turn comes.
  4.  The candidate must note that appearance for the examination and inclusion of name in the Merit List does not necessarily mean that he / she will get admission to the course. His / her admission to BDS course will depend upon the availability of seats at the time of counseling.
  5.  At the time of reporting for the counseling, the candidate is required to produce the documents (original and two sets of photocopies) list mentioned above. If the candidate is admitted to BDS course, these documents will be retained by the University till he / she completes the course. If the candidate fails to produce all or any of the documents listed mentioned above he / she will instantaneously forfeit his / her claim for a seat.
  6. The candidates in the merit list prepared by JSS University, Mysore, on the basis of marks obtained by them at the JSS University Entrance Test 2009 will be called as per their ranks for counseling and on-the-spot admission to college.

Admission Procedure Post Graduate Dental Programmes The process involves the following four stages:

  2. The application downloaded from the Website of the University should be accompanied by a DD for Rs. 2,000/- drawn in favour of JSS University Fee Account payable at Mysore. 
  3.  Announcement of the JSS University PG admissions merit list on website (Dates will be announced on the website)
  4. Appearing for counseling at the University Office at Mysore, the dates of which will be announced later on our Website.

  • 5.0% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.

Eligibility

Qualifications:

  1. Requisite qualifications for admission to Medical / Dental PG Degree and Diploma courses:
    The candidate seeking admission to these courses should have passed MBBS phase III/Final BDS examinations from the college recognized by Medical Council/Dental Council of India.
  2.  As per the regulations of statutory bodies, as laid out in Post-Graduate
    Regulations 2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission to Post-Graduate
    Courses shall be 50 percent for candidates.
  3. The candidate should have completed the compulsory rotating internship/would be completing by 30th of April 2009.
  4. Foreign / PIO / NRI students need not appear for COMEDK PGET - 2009. Their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks.

    MCI/DCI Norms: Medical and Dental PG Degree and Diploma Courses:
    Every student, selected for admission to the Post-Graduate medical/dental course in any of the medical institutions in the country, shall possess recognized M.B.B.S/B.D.S degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent Registration from the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical / Dental Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of the admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled. Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the MCI/DCI may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post-Graduate training restricted to the medical college/ institute to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for postgraduate studies; provided further, that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subjected to the condition that such person is duly registered as medical practitioner in his own country from which the applicant has obtained his/her basic medical qualification and that his/her degree is recognized by the corresponding medical council or concerned authority. If the candidate fails to fulfill the relevant eligibility requirements as mentioned above he/she will not be considered eligible for admission for Medical /Dental PG Degree and Diploma courses.

Application Procedure:

A candidate desirous of admission to Post Graduate Medical/Dental Programmes M.D.S. is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit either of the following ways:

  • A candidate is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit the same to the University on or before the scheduled date. The downloaded and printed application form should be sent along with a processing fee of Rs. 2,000/- only by way of DD favouring JSS University Fee Account, Mysore, payable at Mysore along with the documents listed below.
  • Printed brochure and application forms are also available from our Centres at:

    2. JSS Dental College, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar, Mysore - 570015
  • Candidates may also obtain the application form along with the Brochure by sending a processing fee of Rs. 200/- only by way of DD favouring JSS University, payable at Mysore.
  • The duly filled application form should be sent to the University along with documents listed below.

  2. Proof of Date of Birth (SSLC/PUC Certificates).
  3. Marks card - MBBS/ BDS - FROM First to Final year.
  4. Attempt Certificate.
  5. Internship completion certificate (if not completed, Provisional Completion letter from Dean/Principal).
  6. Provisional/ Permanent Registration of the Medical/Dental Council.
  7. Degree Certificate.
  8. Three recent passport-size colour photographs with name and date.
  9. Conduct certificate.
  10. Migration Certificate.
  11. MCI/DCI - recognition of the college from where student has completed the course.
  12. Processing fee of Rs. 2,000/- only by way of DD favouring JSS University Fee Account, Mysore, payable at Mysore along with the documents listed below.

Merit List

  1.  The University will prepare a merit list amongst the candidates who have applied for admission to Post Graduate Medical & Dental Programmes M.D/ M.S. / M.D.S. / P. G. Diploma Course at the constituent institutions of the university, with Comed-K PGET Test Score 2009 in accordance with the total marks obtained by them. The candidates will be called for counseling as per their ranking in this list. There will be separate merit list for Medical and Dental Students.
  2. Copy of merit list will be displayed at the office of JSS University in Mysore and also on Website of the University. The date of announcement of merit list shall be notified through official Website of the University (www.jssuni.edu.in)
  3. In case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the Comed-K PGET 2009 the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined by the marks obtained in III Year MBBS/ IV year BDS will be considered for ranking.

    Ties if any will be resolved based on the following, in the order specified:
    1. Total aggregate percentage scored in MBBS/BDS exams.
    2. No. of additional attempts during the course of study i.e. MBBS/BDS
    3. In case of ties at this level, computerized random selection of candidate will be carried out.
