ELIGIBILITY B. Pharm Course:
- Pass in HSC/PDC/PUC/AISSC/HISC (10+2) or equivalent with individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology (or) Mathematics both theory and practical with not less than 50% aggregate marks in the above subjects is mandatory.
- A pass in English with a minimum of 35% marks is mandatory for all categories.
Direct II Year B. Pharma course through Lateral Entry for D. Pharm holders:
- Should have aggregate of 50% marks in the first and second year D. Pharm examination with a pass in HSC or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) or Mathematics.
- Minimum qualifying marks in 10+2 as per I year B. Pharmacy eligibility with a pass in two year D. Pharm course.
Admission Procedure for B.Pharm course:
The process involves the following four stages:
- Submission of application form with details of marks secured in the qualifying examination. Selection will be made for this academic year only (2009-10) on the merit based on marks secured in Qualifying examinations (10+2/PUC/HSC, etc.,) in relevant subjects conducted by various Boards of Authority. A normalization process will be adopted to equate the marks of the various boards.
Normalization of marks: The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various boards or authority will be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board (Government of Karnataka) by adopting the method of normalization).
- Sending by post, the application form, Photographs and other enclosures on or before 30.06.2009.
- Announcement of the merit list on website (Dates will be announced on the website).
- Admission of selected students to courses and colleges allotted during counseling session.
Instructions to the candidates:
Introduction:
Students will be admitted to B.Pharm courses in the constituent college of JSS University, JSS college of Pharmacy, Mysore & JSS College of pharmacy Ooty, on the basis of the rank list prepared by the University from marks secured in Qualifying examinations (10+2/PUC/HSC, etc.,) in relevant subjects conducted by various Boards of Authority. A normalization process will be adopted to equate the marks of the various boards.
- 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign / Management
- 5.0% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.
Age: The candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 20083.
Qualifications:
Requisite Qualification for admission to B.Pharm course :
- Pass in H.Sc.,/PDC/PUC (10+2) with an aggregate of 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology or Biology or Mathematics.
- The candidate should also have scored 50% in English language.
Application Procedure:
A candidate desirous of admission to the B.Pharm course is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit either of the following ways:
- A candidate is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit the same to the University on or before the scheduled date. The downloaded and printed application form should be sent along with a processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- only by way of DD favouring JSS University Fee Account, Mysore, payable at Mysore along with the documents listed below
- Candidates may also obtain the application form along with the Brochure by sending a processing fee of Rs.1,100/- only by way of DD favouring JSS University, payable at Mysore. The duly filled application form should be sent to the University along with documents listed below.

Note: Xerox of the hard copy of the application form will not be accepted.
Following documents have to be enclosed along with the application form:i) Six recent coloured photograph.
ii) Attested copies of SSLC/X Std, PUC/HSC/XII Std., marks card and attempt certificate.
iii) DD of Rs. 1,000/- favoring JSS University Fee Account, Mysore (for application forms downloaded from the University Website).

Merit List
- The University will prepare a merit list amongst the candidates who have applied for admission to the B.Pharm course at the constituent institutions of the university, with the marks secured in Qualifying examinations (10+2/PUC/HSC, etc.,) in relevant subjects conducted by various Boards of Authority. A normalization process will be adopted to equate the marks of the various boards.
- The candidates will be called for counseling as per their ranking in this list.\
- Copy of merit list will be displayed at the office of JSS University in Mysore and also on Website of the University. The date of announcement of merit list shall be notified through official Website of the University (www.jssuni.edu.in).
- In case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the qualifying examination the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in order of preference as under:
Candidates obtaining higher percentage of marks in the 10th Standard examination, if equal.
In case of tie at this level, computerized random selection of candidate will be carried out.
Counselling & on-the-spot-admission session:
- The counseling sessions will be conducted at JSS University, JSS Medical Institutions Campus, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar, Mysore- 570015, Karnataka. The date will be displayed on the University Website later. FAILURE TO REPORT FOR COUNSELLING ON THE SCHEDULED DATE AND TIME WILL RESULT IN INSTANTANEOUS CANCELLATION OF CLAIM OF THE CANDIDATE TO THE SEAT; it shall be candidate's responsibility to see the result of JSS rank list.
- The candidate should remain present for the counseling and for on-the-spot-admission, as per the scheduled displayed on Website, even though he / she fails to receive any information letter, for any reason from the University.
- Only the candidate and one of his parents / guardian will be allowed into the hall where counseling is held. The candidates will be called in the order of their ranking in the merit list and offered the seats to the various courses available at that point of time. The candidate will be allowed to choose admission to any of the courses if a seat is available when his / her turn comes.
- The candidate must note that appearance for the examination and inclusion of name in the Merit List does not necessarily mean that he / she will get admission to any course. His / her admission to a particular course will depend upon the availability of seats for that particular course at the time of counseling.
- At the time of reporting for the counseling, the candidate is required to produce the documents (original and two sets of photocopies) list mentioned above. If the candidate is admitted to any of the courses, these documents will be retained by the University till he / she complete the course. If the candidate fails to produce all or any of the documents listed mentioned above he / she will instantaneously forfeit his / her claim for a seat.
- The candidates in the merit list will be called as per their ranks for counseling and on-the-spot admission to the various courses and colleges.
